Flinders rural rescue challenge 2025 inspires future rural generalists

The NT Rural Generalist Coordination Unit (RGCU) proudly supported the Flinders Rural Rescue Challenge on 2 October 2025, giving year 2 Flinders University medical and Aboriginal Health Practitioner students hands-on experience in rural emergency care.

Organised by Dr Nigel Gray, the event featured seven simulated scenarios from Litchfield National Park to Batchelor Health Clinic. RGCU staff provided on-ground support and sponsored student packs and bus hire.

The challenge strengthened collaboration with Flinders NT Regional Training Hub, NTPHN, ACRRM and RACGP, and reinforced RGCU’s commitment to developing future Rural Generalists and enhancing healthcare in remote communities.

Request 2: add a sub section the health supports before "the employee assistance program (EAP)".
