Help shape the future of the NT's rural generalist workforce

The Rural Generalist Coordination Unit is recruiting Rural Generalist Advisors to help strengthen rural medical training and career pathways across the NT.

The positions are offered on a part-time basis (0.1 FTE – 0.2 FTE) for a 12-month period and aim to strengthen and mature the NT Rural Generalist Program by providing strategic workforce advice, stakeholder engagement and trainee or registrar-focused support across the training continuum.

The role promotes and facilitates access to rural generalist training, Fellowship and career opportunities through advocacy, mentoring, education and collaboration with key health workforce partners.

Applicants must:

  • be eligible for registration as a specialist in General Practice with the Medical Board of Australia
  • hold a Rural Generalist Fellowship with ACRRM and/or RACGP
  • have experience working as a Rural Generalist in the NT.
