Northern Territory registrar attraction grant
For 2026.1, RACGP is pleased to confirm that all MM6–7 placements in the Northern Territory are designated incentivised locations.
This includes sites operating under FIFO or DIDO models from Darwin, offered as a ‘unique placement’ option in the incentivised placement program. To find the details of these incentivised locations and the available funding, go to the RACGP website.
In addition to these funds for 2026/2027, RACGP has committed to funding an exclusive ‘Northern Territory Attraction Grant’. This grant provides new cohorts in 2026/2027 with a $20,000 sign-up bonus simply for choosing to train in the NT. This is not available in any other training region. The payment will be made in 2 instalments of $10,000 each, on completion of the first and second 6 months of GPT1/GPT2 training in general practice.
