RGCU showcases at the 10th rural and remote health scientific symposium

The NT RGCU proudly attended the 10th Rural and Remote Health Scientific Symposium, held at the Alice Springs Convention Centre.

The national event brought together researchers, policymakers and health leaders to discuss the future of rural and remote health research and workforce development. With over 200 delegates in attendance, the symposium provided RGCU with valuable opportunities to share information about the NT Rural Generalist Program and connect with key stakeholders across Australia.

Throughout the 2-day event, RGCU representatives engaged with medical educators, training organisations and university partners to promote the NT Rural Generalist Program and explore opportunities for collaboration. Representatives from the Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer shared a booth with the RGCU, allowing both programs to highlight NT Health’s coordinated approach to building a skilled and sustainable rural and remote workforce. The timing also coincided with the launch of the John Flynn Prevocational Doctor Program Auxiliary Funding Scheme, allowing RGCU to promote this new initiative to interested stakeholders.

Participating in the symposium reinforce RGCU’s role in supporting and strengthening the rural medical workforce and showcase the Territory’s ongoing commitment to improving health outcomes in rural and remote communities.
